Ka Hula Piko (Birth of Hula) Festival TBA Legend says that Molokai is the birthplace of the hula, Hawaii's traditional dance. Each May the people of this small island host a celebration, known as Ka Hula Piko, on Papahaku Beach Park near Kalukoi. The festival is a day-long event that began in 1991. Prior to the festival, a number of lectures and workshops are offered. The dances of Ka Hula Piko are not done in competition, but in celebration of the dance.
